About Derek

Derek Reynolds is designer and communications professional with over a decade of experience. He is a Certified Registered Graphic Designer and earned his Bachelor of Design from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and Diploma in Publishing from Langara College. He has significant experience working in post-secondary and research institutions, as well as with non-profits in the health sector and 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Derek is the Digital Communications Designer at Ted Rogers School of Management’s Diversity Institute within Toronto Metropolitan University, and has previously held roles at the Community-Based Research Centre, the Ontario Regional Centre of the Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto, George Brown College, and Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

More about Derek

Originally from a small town on the west coast of Canada, he has lived in Vancouver, Montreal and is currently located in Toronto. In addition to devoting himself to all things design, he is an avid dragonboater, a sport which encourages a focus on technique, physical fitness, and most importantly building a tight-knit community among diverse individuals working together towards a common goal. He also occasionally writes and draws comics and has sold them at local comics festivals.
