Summit Instagram Filter, Program, and Social Posts
Designing social media graphics to advertise the Summit, as well as a 60 page event program and an Instagram filter to enhance participant experience.
Context
The Community-Based Research Centre’s (CBRC) yearly Summit was historically in-person, however this was the second year it was held virtually. When I came into the project the Summit’s name and overall brand identity had been created (a collage image had been created, and colours identified). From there, I was to create a full suite of social media assets to advertise and promote the event, and develop a print and digital program guide.
The organization’s priority was to give participants a fully realized digital event experience, including mailing participants conference packages with the event program, lanyards and badges, and even tea and treats. With this in mind, I pitched the idea of creating an Instagram filter which I envisioned would take the place of an event photo booth and allow yet another way for participants to engage with the event.
Design Process
- Created a full suite of social media graphics in both English and French, including square and vertical formats, using speaker photos and layering and alternating shapes and colours to make dynamic images that aligned to the overall brand.
- Managed and maintained strict version control in designing a 60 page Summit program to ensure accuracy of details, and the ability to comfortably print and distribute despite tight production timelines.
- Emphasized panelist and participant needs and event presence to develop an on-trend Instagram filter.
Solution and Results
- Created a full suite of bilingual social media graphics for the 6 keynote speakers, as well as supplementary promotional graphics to advertise the Summit.
- Designed a 60 page program for digital and print distribution.
- Summit participants used the Instagram filter 86 times, and shared it 18 times, giving it over 500 impressions.
